Post office queue
Today, LSP and I created a Post office queue.
we are lucky in our village that we retain a post office. We went in today to send our Christmas cards and Post the packages.
How would we know that it would take 25 minutes. !!!!
we are lucky in our village that we retain a post office. We went in today to send our Christmas cards and Post the packages.
How would we know that it would take 25 minutes. !!!!
6 parcels, 8 overseas cards, and a stack of UK cards to be posted.
(should not have taken 25 minutes)
all the rest of the cards will be dropped off by hand.
In the post Christmas Sales we do not need to buy any more Christmas Cards. We have enough in the box. I need to remember this when I see pretty cards. We do need Paper! we are down to the last roll. it did get tense. I did buy a roll of full price wrap this year when we went to John Lewis. I could not resist as it has bunting on it. This was lucky as we would have ran out.
All of the presents have been tidied away, well those that have not been posted far and wide.
(happy full snowmen)
so after disrupting the whole village, we took oldest daughter to the shops. (although LSP and I finished our Christmas Shopping, the rest of the family have not)
Its great the feeling of wandering around with no pressure. no need to buy, no need to queue, just to enjoy looking.
oh and fitting in a hot chocolate and mince pie.....
I was tempted to buy for me as Kirsty Alsopp's Craft was only 12.99 and they had some lovely knitting books. however. I resisted. there is nothing in it that I cant find on the internet.
Also this morning when I was tidying I realised how full the bookshelf is! I am going to have to treat the bookshelves like the cookbooks and will be operating a 1 in 1 out policy! so any purchases will have to be carefully considered.
After a stroll round TKMaxx...OD still had not found what she was looking for so.
We ventured to Matalan. I am not the biggest fan of Matalan, but did find something to make me smile...
(No I did not buy one as they did not do double's or king's)
Well that's all the shopping, wrapping, packing, posting stress out of the way.
December will be spent catching up with friends and sorting out the food....oh and putting up the decorations.
The highlight of the day? (apart from spending time with the family)
Beautiful Sky!

headache and more Brighton.
So today was my first day back at work for a month. I had had a discussion with my GP and we said that the 3 day week would be a good way of easing myself back into work. Friday and Saturday were quite good days. not 100% headache free but still not to bad. ...
Sunday and Monday were not so good. Yesterday I spent most of it on the sofa wearing sunglasses. However I was hopeful about today. (especially as it was due to be cloudier and cooler)
How wrong I was, I made it through the day and carried out my duties however, on the bus at the end of the day I just wanted to cry. I am going back in tomorrow so wish me luck!
In an attempt to halt these headache's, I am not eating chocolate, cheese, having caffeine or alcohol (apart from those daiquiri's at the weekend). I have now been suggested to avoid oranges and try having some ginger. Any other suggestions of things to try/avoid are welcome.
Now you have sat through my winge, I will treat you to some more photo's from Brighton.

how was your sunset?
So how was your sunset?
The weatherman promised an amazing sunset due to the Saharan dust.......
We had a bit of pink sky!
Not worth getting the camera out for.
The other day was much better,
Today, one of life's miracle's happened, a new baby girl entered the world. Both mum and baby are doing well. The modern age is amazing, years ago you would have to wait for a phone call or a text message to keep you up to date with Mum and Baby's progress, not now. We were all kept updated via facebook. It was a great little lift in the day. I had another miserable day today, spent half of it asleep. Off to the G.P tomorrow hopefully for a some relief.
Other little lifts today included some delicious free range egg's which were a gift from a friend.
Tonight This was sat next to LSP on the sofa!
A pay slip, a receipt, an ipad, car key's, super headphones and passport......hmm I wonder what's afoot.

one wet foot.
After a grotty day of feeling tired with a day long headache which proved resistant to paracetamol, what better way to blow the cobwebs away than to take the dogs for a sunset dog walk.
LSP and I did a quick change, hooked the dogs up and away we went.
The dogs loved the time off the lead running around the field's.
LSP and I did a quick change, hooked the dogs up and away we went.
The dogs loved the time off the lead running around the field's.
The real fun started when we put the lead's back on...... The spaniel is blind and more than a bit daft.
He managed to find every bit of twig and branch to wrap his lead around. At one point he seemed to be dragging half a bush through a stream with no chance of rescue. Once we managed to disentangle him we walked through the boggiest and wettest field in Wiltshire. I was not in wellies! I tried to keep to the highest ground until one point where I needed to take a leap across a big boggy, marshy and wet puddle. I gathered all of my strength and leapt. I nearly made it as well. All of me apart from my right foot. my now soggy and muddy right foot. At this point we were the furthest away from the house. I had to take my soggy foot all the way back with me. However It succeeded in blowing away the cobwebs and I forgot about my headache for a while (its back now). The sunset through the tree's was nice.
Home to chili and hot chocolate.....happy Monday everyone!
