Easter Day.

What a lovely day.

This morning we had hot cross buns and coffee for breakfast. A lovely way to start Easter day.

This was my Easter egg.

Then it was time to open my swap parcel from the lovely  Marina in Lissy Lou's Vintage Easter Swap.

It was all wrapped in Sheet music how fab. ( I am ashamed to say I did not wrap mine)
I was so excited as I unwrapped it all.
There was so much, I am very spoilt as Marina was very generous.

Look what I got, A lovely Vintage tin, a violet teacup and saucer, a hand knitted chick, 3 little chicks, a glass milk jug, some lovely tea towels, a felt broach and a fantastic vintage tea strainer.

Now the tin is now holding my sewing bits and pieces, The milk jug is with my collection on the shelf, the chick is sitting in an egg cup, the teatowels are ready for use. Oh and I am eating the eggs....

We did some spring cleaning today. While LSP tackled the downstairs cupboard, I was able to turn my attention to the spare room. I have finally got the ladybird books in.
(sorry about the bizarre shadow)

look what came out.
I am finally making the Roman blind for the room.

I love sewing, I have not finished as my hands were getting sore.
but how lovely is the action of sitting and sewing.

I have put some bits and pieces on the bed. But the room is still not quite finished so I wont share it all yet.

Dinner tonight was lovely,
It was not very traditional but, it was lovely. Linguine,
butter, garlic, shallots, mushroom, spinach, prawns, mussel's. squid. with parmasan and black pepper.

Was delicious.
(even If I do say so myself.)

Altogether it has been a lovely day.

Good Friday.

This morning I did indeed flit around the house with my duster to the tune of radio 4. The house was lovely and spick and span in time for 12.00. LSP was doing something special today with a guest. So I amused myself upstairs and I have sorted out a full bag of clothes for the charity shop. I have gone through all of my dresses and worked out which ones I will not be wearing again and have put them into our charity bag. We now gift aid our donations. It works in the same way as if you donate money. The charity are able to claim an additional 28p per pound. All of our charity donations go to our local Hospice shop. We have a card which has a gift aid serial number on and our donations get labelled with that serial number so they can track how much money is made off of our specific donations. We received a letter recently that said they had made £71 off of our donations. Wow £71.

I am so pleased.

I cant wait to see what all my old party dress's make.

last night we moved the gerbil into her new home......this morning I had to move her back into her old one.
She could not climb upwards in the tubes and kept burying her water bottle.

I got to watch the Preston Passion today. It was very good, very moving. To me, Good Friday is more than just a day off, its a day for thought, prayer and reflection. I sat down to lunch with our guest and LSP. LSP is currently agnostic and our guest is a buddist. Its like a bad joke, what did the Buddist, Agnostic and Christian talk about. We had a lovely lunch of quiche and salad, our guest provided the quiche and I made the salads and pudding.

We did indeed talk about God and Christianity. I am the worst person to debate God and Christianity with. Because for me it has always just made sense. I believe in God and Jesus. I believe that Christianity is not always about God as politics get's in the way. I believe that God is infinite and created the universe, the world and us. The wars that have happened about religion have been made by man and not god. It is often said that god is a bad parent, I think that we are bad siblings. We do not do enough for one another and it is greed that makes us selfish. I believe that God sacrificed his son for us. However after a short talk about religion we mostly just talked about work!

After lunch I settled down to watch High Society on the TV, it was great. The music, the dress's and the hats. (I am hat obsessed). We are now going to have a lovely night in before the weekend commences. I am hoping to take some photo's with the big camera this weekend and look forward to sharing them at some point.

hope you have all had a good weekend.

Good friends and give-away's. part 2.

Brighton is special to LSP and I for 2 reasons. The First is because it was our honeymoon destination. The 2nd is because we have friends down there.

They are friends who are very dear to us and it was great to spend some time with them. Just having the time to sit and chat and catch up was brilliant. We plan to return again sooner so we can catch up again.

We are blessed by having some very good friends, I have really noticed this since being off work unwell. People sending supportive text's. visiting me, facebook messages etc.

One of our friends has moved house this weekend and I have mixed feelings about it. It is really good for her, but means she will be an hour away so we will see less of her. So I am pleased for her and a little sad as well.

She has however left me a legacy.......

Her beautiful dolls house!

She has put a lot of work into the house already but there is a long way to go.

So this is the Legacy, I will love, take care of it and slowly finish it.

OK now for the give-away.....

I put all of the names into a bowl and LSP did the honour's of pulling a name out of the bowl.

Well done Kathryn,
if you send me your detail's.
my email is,

Hope everyone has had a very good Easter.

I am going to start off slow with an Easter Egg raffle!!!

I will be contacting chocolate selling shops asking them to donate some egg's.

spring bunnies

At the end of Lent is Easter.

Usually at this time I am heading towards the chocolate shop to start buying Easter treats. Although chocolate is technically food I can't justify shopping to buy the usual chocolate fayre...

My favourite shop is usually Thornton's.

However, this year. It will be fabric bunnies not chocolate bunnies on the menu.

I am going to sort through my many pieces of fabric,

Draw a suitable Pattern,

Stitch,

Sew,

Embellish,

Create,

I am quite looking forward to it and showing off my creations!

Really short blog tonight, I have managed a day of not spending and had a good long lunchtime walk in the sunshine. I did not take my camera with me today so no sunny pic's I am afraid. It was a shame as the sun was really nice and the light was good. Oh well must pack it tomorrow.

Hope you all had a good Monday!!!!
